It is not easy to assess the services of a translation company. The easy part is to estimate the servicing, i.e. the politeness of the manager, the efficiency of the answers to your inquiry, the detailed report on the text submitted for translation and etc.  What is more difficult is how to assess the product itself because to do so, one has to perfectly master the terminology and the style, to be able to understand the nuances of the original text, as well as to have a huge dictionary in the head.

We would like to share with you our opinion: the translation in general depends on technology and personnel! By technology we mean the standard processing of the text, the programme management of projects used by the managers and etc. And the personnel consist of translators, proofreaders, editors and other members of the team. The final result depends on the quality of the cooperation between the technology and the personnel. For example, if a technological process includes preparation of the auxiliary materials, translation, topical editing, text editing, proofreading and final checkup and approval, then the quality of the translation is going to meet highest standards. Of course, the above said is possible on the condition that all stages are performed by qualified experts.   

In a series of articles we are going to tell you how Parola Plus Ltd. is managing and balancing the translation process being the “middleman”: on one side is the client, and we mean a satisfied client, and on the other – the freelance translators who are our main asset! But the road to perfection is complicated, scheduled on an everyday basis, not recognizing weekends and holidays. A moment of distraction could cost you a customer or not mention – customers! But it is also up to the middleman, i.e. the translation agency to make sure the source text has clear meaning, right terminology and style. The agency is aware that not all texts are composed by talented writers, but we must make sure there are no obvious ambiguities in the meaning of the text.
